All-on-4 Dental Implants

Are you missing most or all of your teeth and have been told you do not qualify for dental implants due to jawbone loss?

All-on-4® dental implants can help you enjoy the benefits of implants, often without preparatory bone grafting.

Explore how you can restore your smile through All-on-4 treatment at Central Texas Dental Care, just outside Waco, TX

What is All-on-4?

/

Traditional dental implants for a full arch restoration require six to eight dental implant posts. This often means that patients with jawbone atrophy may not qualify or may require preparatory bone grafting before implants can be placed. However, All-on-4 dental implants use just four posts placed at strategic angles to maximize the bone material you still have.

The Benefits of All-on-4 Implants

Dental implants are often considered the gold standard for tooth replacement options. They provide numerous benefits, including:

  • Restored Function

Implants paired with a custom restoration, such as dentures, can allow you to eat the foods you love and speak with confidence. There is also no risk of your denture slipping as the denture is secured directly to the implants.
  • Restored Appearance

Missing teeth can be embarrassing, and patients often report feeling self-conscious about their smile. Dental implants paired with a custom restoration are designed to look like natural teeth so you can smile with confidence.
  • Less Invasive

The All-on-4 method uses just four implants to restore an arch versus the traditional six to eight. Preparatory bone grafting can often be skipped with All-on-4, which means one less surgery, so you can enjoy a restored smile sooner.
  • Jaw Health

The jaw relies on your tooth roots to remain healthy. When you lose a tooth, the jaw loses the stimulation your tooth roots once provided, and it can begin to deteriorate. Implants stop and even prevent this deterioration from occurring.

How Much Do All-on-4 Implants Cost?

The cost of treatment can vary depending on whether you need preparatory treatments and if you need one or both arches restored; the best way to learn your treatment cost is at a consultation. On average, a full arch restoration will cost about $31,000–32,000.

Insurance

We accept most insurance plans to help reduce your out-of-pocket costs. However, it is important to remember that most dental insurance plans do not cover dental implants. They often cover other costs relating to treatment, such as the cost of your denture.

Financing

For those without insurance or to help with costs not covered by dental insurance, our Waco-area dental practice accepts CareCredit® financing. This allows you to break the cost of your treatment into affordable monthly payments.

Am I a Candidate for All-on-4 Treatment?

You may be a good candidate for All-on-4 treatment if you:

Are Missing All of Your Teeth on a Dental Arch

All-on-4 treatment specifically addresses complete tooth loss along a dental arch. If you are only missing one or a few teeth, other implant-supported restorations may be a better option for you.

Are in Good Oral and Overall Health

Implant placement is a surgical procedure, so you must be in good overall health. You must also be free of tooth decay and gum disease before dental implant placement to ensure a healthy foundation for your restoration. If needed, our dentists can provide periodontal care and other treatments to get your oral health back on track.

Do Not Use Tobacco

Tobacco use has been linked to several oral health concerns, including an increased risk of dental implant failure. It is best to stop all tobacco use before your dental implant procedure to be safe.

Have Sufficient Jawbone

While All-on-4 dental implants can help patients with mild to moderate jawbone loss qualify for treatment, patients must still have sufficient bone material to support the implants.

Planning

During your initial consultation at our Hewitt practice just outside Waco, your dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your goals to determine if All-on-4 dental implants are right for you. If you decide to receive implants, your dentist will use cone beam 3D scanners and other advanced imaging to begin planning your surgery.

Anesthetic

On the day of implant placement, before your procedure begins your dentist will thoroughly numb the area using local anesthetic. We also offer sedation dentistry options to keep you completely comfortable throughout your treatment.

Implant Placement

Once you are numbed, your dentist will insert the four implant posts into the jaw using custom surgical guides for exact placement. Two implants are placed at strategic angles to maximize the jawbone material.

Healing

Over the next few months, you will be given time to heal and to allow the implants to fuse to the jaw in a process called osseointegration. You will have a second procedure for abutment placement, and a second healing period follows. This takes about three to four months.

Impressions

Impressions are taken of your mouth so our trusted dental lab can craft your custom denture. Once completed, your denture will look just like your natural teeth.

Restoration Placement

Once you are healed, you will return to our Waco-area practice. Your dentist will secure your denture to the implant posts. Once secured, you will treat your restoration just like natural teeth.
