ANNOUNCEMENT March 23, 2020

In his press conference on Sunday, Governor Abbott issued an executive order restricting healthcare professionals and facilities.

According to the Executive Order No. GA-09, “beginning now and continuing until 11:59 p.m. on April 21, 2020, all licensed health care professionals and all licensed health care facilities shall postpone all surgeries and procedures that are not immediately medically necessary to correct a serious medical condition of, or to preserve the life of, a patient who without immediate performance of the surgery or procedure would be at risk for serious adverse medical consequences or death, as determined by the patient’s physician;” “PROVIDED, however, that this prohibition shall not apply to any procedure that, if performed in accordance with the commonly accepted standard of clinical practice, would not deplete the hospital capacity or the personal protective equipment needed to cope with the COVID- 19 disaster.”

Since the Governor is addressing a shortage of hospital capacity, it is imperative that dental clinicians care for emergency patients in a timely manner rather than referring them to emergency facilities.

The governor also pointed out in his comments that violation of executive orders could lead to potential fines and even jail time for those who do not comply.  See Executive Order: Governor Abbott’s Executive Order.

A message to our Patients:

The safety and well-being of our patient community has long been our top priority, and recent circumstances have not changed that fact.

Central Texas Dental Care is following the recommendations of Governor Abbott, Texas State Board, American Dental Association as well as the CDC and will be limiting our services effective immediately. Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our patients, families, and broader community, our office will not be performing any elective or non-urgent dental procedures at this time.

While the office will be closed for all routine care during this time, our team will continue to support patients requiring EMERGENCY CARE ONLY. If you experience a dental emergency during this time, please call the office at (254) 666-1686. Currently, our office hours will remain unchanged Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm.

Additionally, our team will be available to help those affected by cancellations to help reschedule their appointments at a time that works best for them. If you have an appointment that may be affected, or would like to reschedule regardless, please call the office.

Now more than ever, it is our responsibility to work together to ensure the health of the broader community, and we encourage you to do your part as well. Continue to adhere to recommendations provided from health care experts, and take care of those near you that may require extra assistance during this time.

We will be updating our website and facebook to keep you all updated to the best of our ability. Thank you for your flexibility, understanding, and patience during this uniquely uncommon time.

We love our patients, our team, and our practice and look forward to being able to serve all of you dental needs as soon as possible!
